At Joyful Remembrances, we believe that death can be our greatest teacher about life, and grief can be our greatest teacher about joy. By opening ourselves fully to the end-of-life process, we learn to truly embrace life. By creating space for the grief that accompanies loss, we open ourselves to abundant joy.

Kelly is a Sacred Spaces facilitator, a laughter yoga leader, an INELDA-trained End-of-Life Doula, Universal Life Church ordained minister, and a trauma-informed Registered Yoga Teacher.
Kelly was opened to the gifts of end-of-life work after her younger sister was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2023. After enjoying a successful 20-year legal career, she decided to pursue a life of spiritual growth and service to her fellow humans during whatever time she has left here on earth.

The word "doula" comes from the Ancient Greek word δούλα meaning 'female slave'; but over the years, the word has come to refer to any non-medical professional of any gender who provides guidance for the service of others and who supports another person through a significant health-related transition. End-of-life Doulas offer emotional, physical, spiritual, and other essential non-medical support to dying persons and their loved ones.

For patients and their loved ones, a terminal illness or sudden death can involve significant psychological, moral, financial and legal stressors. Planning ahead for end-of-life can alleviate the stress of having to make serious health- or financial-related decisions during a time of crisis.
